Spanish Translation Project of the Ngakso Puja
Request for Support from Dharma House Mexico and Rangjung Yeshe Gomde Mexico:
Dear Community,
This year (2025), during his seminar at Gomde Mexico, Rinpoche expressed his desire to perform the Ocean of Amrita practice (known in Tibetan as ngaksoin Mexico next year (2026). This is an incredibly deep and extensive practice for purifying and repairing vows and samayas of the three vehicles. profunda y extensaTaken from the Chokling Tersar, it is an extraordinary opportunity to purify faults and obscurations, reinforce our commitments, gather merit, and thus create increasingly conducive circumstances for our individual and collective development.
In order for this practice to be carried out in Mexico, we need a faithful, clear, and complete translation of the sadhana into Spanish. Currently, the text exists in Tibetan, German, Chinese, and English. The practice of this puja takes a full day, and its translation requires sustained effort over several months. To give an idea of the magnitude of the project, the English book, which contains only the phonetics and translation of the root text, without initial supplications or additional prayers, is 240 pages long. This highly specialized work requires:
-
Knowledge of the practice and of the Chokling Tersar
-
Careful review of the English and Tibetan versions
-
Consultations with khenpos and lamas to resolve terminological and conceptual questions
-
Professional editing and formatting of the final text
In order for the puja to take place next year, this work must begin immediately, as we estimate that it will take seven to eight months to complete. The project budget is $145,000 Mexican pesos ($8,000 USD), which will cover six months of translation work and one month of editorial correction.
